installation begins
This gallery comprises photographs taken on Wednesday, 2nd Septmeber, 2009 and shows some very real progress at Kemp Place.
All three artists have made substantial inroads into their individual artworks. Sebastian was able to get most of his work completed in the one day, although there was substantial preparation with the stencil design, making the stencils, cleaning the wall and undercoating.
Simone has her footings done and the supports well-anchored. She just needs for the concrete to cure and then she can crane in her pieces and fix them to the bases.
Adrian has all of his poles securely concreted into the ground. He, too, has to wait for the footings to cure before he can remove the timber bracing and start the painting process. You will note from the photos of Adrian's work that they appear vertical when approaching from the tunnel and then start to assume random angled poses from other vantage points. This will be accentuated by the red finish and silver banding.
One of the seating slabs has been installed and the other soon to follow. Garden edging will follow that.
